Our Team
Respicius Mwijage
Mwijage is a law graduate from the University of Dar es Salaam. He is an advocate of the High Court and its subordinate courts. He is an active member of both the Tanganyika Law Society and the East Africa Law Society. With over fifteen years of practical experience in tax regimes, tax administration, and related matters, he is well-versed in tax dispute resolution and general justice administration. He has served as a Principal Resident Magistrate in the Judiciary and the Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs for the Government of Tanzania. For the past fifteen consecutive years, Mwijage has also worked as the Secretary to the Tax Revenue Appeals Board in the Ministry of Finance for the Government of Tanzania.
Sabiha Nassib
She was born in Zanzibar, Tanzania on 7th of April, 1981. She is a Law Graduate of Tumaini University, Iringa University College (2004) and attains a Postgraduate Diploma in Tax Management in 2011 at Institute of Finance Management (IFM). For over 10 years Ms Nassib served as a Legal Officer at the Tax Revenue Appeals Tribunal, Ministry of Finance - Government of Tanzania. She was admitted as an Advocate, Notary Public and Commissioner for Oath in the Year 2012. She is an active member of the Tanganyika Law Society, East Africa Law Society, and Zanzibar Law Society.
Christopher Kamugisha
Managing Partner at SARC Law Chambers. Kamugisha was born in Kagera, Tanzania on 21 May 1966. He is a law graduate of the University of Dar es Salaam (LLB 1994). He was admitted to practice law in Tanzania in 2001. Prior to joining SARC Law Chambers, Kamugisha worked for 5 consecutive years as a State Attorney in the Attorney General’s Chambers within the Ministry of Justice, Government of Tanzania. For over 16 years he has served as Chief Legal Counsel of the Medical Stores Department, Ministry Health - Government of Tanzania. He has practical experience in corporate law, international trade, contract negotiations and contract management, legal drafting. Kamugisha is an active member of both the Tanganyika Law Society and the East Africa Law Society.
Octavianus Mushukuma
Senior Associate at SARC. He holds a LL.B (Hons) from UDSM (2005). He has worked as a State Attorney at the Attorney General s Chambers (2008/2009). He worked as junior partner at CRB AFRICA LEGAL since 2009 to 2015. He has vast experience in Commercial Litigation, arbitration, Recovery, Receivership and Administration. He has advised corporate clients, successfully handled a range of high profile cases of commercial significance including but not limited to recovery, receivership and administration of companies and arbitration proceedings. Has regularly advises clients both corporate bodies and individuals on tax related matters ranging from regulatory regime to analysis on legal framework regard being had to tax administration in United Republic of Tanzania. Has also regularly advised clients on finance and banking related matters including but not limited to representing clients in Courts of law in civil cases involving banking and related matters; Has regularly advised and acted for clients in the incorporation of companies in Tanzania, secretarial works and representing clients in courts of law in such matters as winding up of companies.
Waziri Magendo
Our senior tax staff with experience of more than three years, having
performed a multitude of tax consultancies to various sectors of the economy
ranging from banks, manufacturing, trading, educational, transportation,
shipping, among others. Mr. Magendo is a B.Com graduate from the University of
Dar es Salaam. In 2006 he joined the tax consultancy where he provided
consultancy services to clients both local and multinational companies. Our
team will have backup assistance from our in-house resources and may draw
expertise from our vast network of associates within the industry and in
academics. Waziri currently serves on the Public Finance committee of the
National Board of Accountants and Auditors (NBAA).
Leticia Msechu
An associate at SARC Law Chambers. Leticia is a law graduate from St. Augustine University in Mwanza (2013). She is an Advocate of the High Court of Tanzania and a member of both Tanganyika Law Society and East Africa Law Society. Before joining SARC she attended practical training at the Tax Revenue Appeals Board and Tribunal, Ministry of Finance - Government of Tanzania, and Ako Law in association with Clyde & Co Law firm based in Dar es Salaam. She has practical experience in taxation, corporate and business, immigration and labour matters.
Hirji Abdallah
A renowned tax practitioner in Tanzania who serves on various technical
committees in both the professional arena as well as in the public sector.
Hirji worked for over 15 years with the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) before
joining professional tax consultancy. He has since worked in two of the top 5
firms in East Africa (Deloitte and PKF) where his clients included top
multinationals in sectors such as banking, mining, trading and tourism. Hirji
has been a resource person in many professional workshops and seminars and is
one of the key trainers in taxation for CPA students. Hirji currently serves on
the Public Finance committee of the National Board of Accountants and Auditors
(NBAA).
